About Me

My name is Christine Tse. I live with my husband and two kids, one grown-up son and a teenage daughter in Australia. I had always dreamt that I could be a “perfect” parent of my kids and a capable home manager for my family.

Being obsessive with this dream, I gave up my full time teaching job in order to be a full time stay-at-home mom of my first baby boy for two years. Then I had to go back to school for teaching to support my family financially. My inspiration of being a perfect parent has never ceased for a while. For many years, I have been a working mom juggling the balance between the commitment of my family and my teaching job. To equip myself as an adequate parent, I took various courses that I was fond of, such as psychology of human development and teaching methods, and ended up earning a Master’s degree. I love reading books, articles and everything related to parenting.

Best Mum in the World Trophy From Daughter

Being a parent is not an easy, once-for-all job but a long hauling journey with many ups and downs. I feel that parenting is a very demanding but rewarding job which is filled with many achievements, satisfactions and excitements. Among the Mother’s Day presents from my kids, two of them I treasure the most, a “Best Mom Cup” from my son and a “Best Mom in The World” picture drawn by my daughter in 1999. Not surprisingly, sometimes disappointment and discouragement would come in the way of my parenting life. I, just like many parents, would be stuck at a point and need some more inspirations, ideas, strategies and tips from others, especially those who have experience to empower me and keep me focus on the positives. I learn and grow on the journey of being a parent.

Well, after these twenty plus years of parenting, to be honest, I have not been a “perfect” mom and I know this dream can never come true. However, I found that an imperfect parent is adequate and able to bring up decent and responsible kids. I love my kids and enjoy them being around.
