Why I Chose The Five Love Languages

My husband is pastoring a church where there are nine Sunday school teachers. Most of them are stay-at-home moms. They have been investing a lot of their precious time in teaching our church kids week after week.

Last year our church would like to give them our big thank-you. I was designated to buy something meaningful for them on a special occasion. Having looked around gift shops and book shops, I found many good things out there. Eventually, I chose Dr. Chapman’s Five Love Languages through which we expressed our love to those Sunday school teachers. I bought each teacher a series of Five Love Languages on children, teenagers and mates.

The reasons I bought the series :
1. It’s so straight forward. It’s got a word “love” in the title of the book. It could show our heartfelt love for our Sunday school teachers. Uhah, I’m not kidding.

2. Who’s Dr. Chapman? He is a Christian psychologist and has conducted a lot of marriage seminars that helped thousands of couples.

3. I found these are good books indeed. Only the first book of the series sold over 1 million. The book is not only easy-to-read, but also pragmatic. Dr. Chapman doesn’t bring up some big ideas but some concrete examples to show people how to speak the love languages.

4. As Dr. Chapman said, everyone has a love tank to be filled. We, as parents, including our Sunday school teachers, have our own tanks to be filled by some other people. To enjoy a productive and enjoyable life, our relationships with our partners, children and other family members are very crucial.

So, in recent posts I shared some of the ideas because I think they are really good. Frankly, I don’t earn any money from doing this. Just share what I think is good and what I like. I hope you enjoy reading and find them helpful:

  1. Susan Pereira Says:

Request for information on courses regarding the five love languages. I would like to facilitate classes on the topic of The Five Love Languages. do you have courses that you offer on this subject.

I have worked on the front line and meet children every day that are in trouble because parents have failed to love their children in the love language that they require.

Can you help me to teach these principles to parents for children’s sakes.
