How to Dye Easter Eggs With Onion Skins Step-by-step

To celebrate Easter, the oldest tradition is to use dyed and painted chicken eggs. Here’s a way to dye Easter eggs with onion skins over at Instructables. With nice photos and step-by-step instructions, you can produce beautifully patterned Easter eggs.

Step 1 Materials Needed

Here is what you need to make these kind of Easter eggs:

- eggs
- onion skins (pieces as large as possible)
- 20 cm (8 inch) squares of cloth
- rubber bands
- a pot of boiling water
- some vegetable oil

But I don’t know if the taste and smell of the dyed eggs will appeal to your kids’ or not, if they don’t like onions. It’s a very good way to replace the toxic food colouring, anyway. Any other ways to dye eggs without using food colouring?
