Veggies for Soothing a Teething Baby
Teething is a very common cause that makes a baby cry a lot. If your baby often rubs his/her gum and/or with drooling, runny nose, fever, sleep disturbance, take a careful look at your baby’s gum to see if it becomes hard. These are the symptoms of teething causing your baby feel uncomfortable and cry a lot. (Teething period: around between the age of 6 to 10 months.)
Some parents perhaps like to rub their babies’ gum gently with their finger or give something that’s not too hard for them to chew, like teething rings (you can buy one from the chemist). It would normally help ease your baby’s teething pain. You can also put the teething ring in your fridge, not freezer before giving it to your baby. It would even bring better effect.
I also found the stage of teething is a very good time for introducing some veggies to babies. For example, always keep some fruit/veggies in your fridge (not freezer), like banana, cooked carrot (not raw as it’s too harsh), pears or any other fruit that’s right for your baby. When your baby is a bit of cranky and starts to cry, give him/her to bite. Your baby will love it. Go for it and it won’t hurt. By doing this, not only can you help your baby feel better, but also let him/her eat some veggies.
