		<description>Margaret, I love your article.  I coach parents who often have a very similiar story.  Their own parents were punitive so they approach parenting in a much gentler way but often with a cost.  They fear hurting their children's spirit or disappointing them in any way so they give in to demands and have a tendancy to over indulge. I can understand how this can happen when you've been raised in an  authoritarian environment.</description>
