I'm sorry I beg to differ. We may do many activities to let the left and right brains communicate but in my opinion the effect is minimal. We can't really make a big difference. Furthermore, there's no concrete proof. As Marcus Buckingham wrote in his book "Now, Discover Your Strengths", connections happen only in the first three years of your life. After which, your intelligence is kind of fixed.

But there's always a solution: discover your child's talents and build from there. That's the reason why I don't believe in turning a child who is not good in academic excellence into one that scores a string of As. Or from someone who is lousy in sports to a professional sportsman.
