Great post, but it's not only the kids whose behavior needs to change, it is also the parents. Kids get their desire for brand name products from the environment in which they leave - namely how their family and as your child grows older, their friends approach material things. Food is easy to solve. It becomes more complicated when your child faces the pressure from friends at school who are wearing the latest brands, driving an expensive car and carrying around the shiniest Ipod. Starting early on in the child's life is where to begin.

This is a fantastic post. So many parents give it to their child's desires to have brand-named items and go broke in the process while unknowingly raising materialistic kids. Thanks for this excellent article!
