This is very useful. My son is 20 mos old and like you said his understanding of words is huge but he speaks very few words and mostly just syllables out of words ( like moo-moo for moon , and lo-lo for lorry ) . Should I be worried or just accept that maybe he's a late talker ? I find he watches videos of kids enacting rhymes and understands words from that well (like points to clock when they sing hiuckory dickory ) but he still doesn't speak the words. We also read a few books ( words and pictures books ) to him - he's not yet fond of story books and doesn't have the attention span for it. What esle can I do ?
