Food Allergy and Children

Some of you might’ve known that a 15-year-old Canadian girl with a peanut allergy died after smooching with her boyfriend, who had just eaten a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Allergies are in general on the increase worldwide. And Food allergies are more and more common to both adults and children.

In this sense, if you have a baby or preschool aged child, when you introduce a kind of food that is “new” to them, be cautious. Especially a family member has got allergies already. Try bit by bit first. If there are no symptoms of allergies, rashes, swelling on any part of his/her body, then you might give your child more of the new food.
