Keeping Food Safe Outdoors
Over long weekends my family and our church friends usually go for a picnic together. It is very common to have family barbecues here in Australia. For the pending Easter holidays, we might have a barbecue at someone’s place or in a park. Would you go for a family barbecue over weekends or during holidays? Food safety should always be the first thing to take care of. Here’s a comprehensive list of guidelines posted over at WebMD reminding us of how to keep food safe outdoors.
It’s the season for frolicking in the sun during family barbecues and for romantic picnics. At some point this summer, most of us will find ourselves flipping burgers on the grill or whipping out our Tupperware to transport a bin of potato salad. But unfortunately, if you aren’t careful with foods during cookouts, natural bacteria can grow and multiply, putting you at risk for food-borne illnesses with scary names like salmonella and staphylococcus.

This is great. We picnic all summer long as taking three very young children into cafes and restaurants is just more than I can handle! I will be sure to use these tips.
