Low Iron Intake and ADHD Symptoms

Study shows that low iron levels might be linked to Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Discorder (ADHD) :

According to the American Psychiatric Association, between 5% and 10% of American school-aged children have attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), a psychiatric disorder that causes kids to be impulsive, inattentive, and have trouble functioning in school. Although doctors and scientists aren’t exactly sure why ADHD occurs, some research suggests that ADHD may be related to an imbalance of the brain chemical dopamine. Iron, the nutrient found in foods like fish and shellfish, red meats, and iron-fortified cereals and whole grains, is important for many body functions, and it also may influence the levels of dopamine in the brain.
