Quick and Nutritious Breakfast Ideas

In the morning, my kids and I always have to rush out for work and school. We might miss something occasionally, but we never skip our breakfasts because breakfasts are so important to our health and our day. We really need to find some ideas of quick and nutritious breakfasts. No matter you are a working mom or stay-at-home mom, I guess you might have morning rush like us. These ideas from the USDA/ARS Children’s Nutrition Research Center are easy-to-prepare (via HealthyKids.com):

  • Fruit smoothie made with yogurt and fresh or canned fruit — whip them together in a blender
  • Low-fat waffle, sliced fruit, and low-fat milk
  • Fortified cereal with low-fat milk; 100 percent citrus juice
  • Peanut butter rolled inside a tortilla; 100 percent fruit juice
  • Cheese and crackers or melted cheese on whole-grain toast; 100 percent juiceLow-fat yogurt with added fresh fruit and low-fat granola cereal topping
