Tracking Your Child via Disney Phone Service, Good or Bad?

The Walt Disney Company will launch a new wireless phone service, called Disney Mobile (via Slashdot) that allows parents to track their children on a map using Global Positioning System technology and decide who their children can call and when.

For security reason, I started to let my daughter use mobile phones from Grade 6. She could call me anytime when she needed me. So, I felt ease although my daughter was away from me because we could get connected via mobile phones. As a parent, I really welcome the new service offered by The Walt Disney. But, um…. as teenagers, they desperately need independency, autonomy and privacy, so I wonder if they like their parents tracking them down. If parents use the service without their children’s consensus, would the trust between them be jeopardized? What would you suggest?
