Mother’s Day
We celebrate Mother’s Day on the second Sunday in May here in Australia. Thanks to Melissa for reminding us of the different dates of Mother’s Day celebrated in different countries. No matter where you are or when you have a Mother’s Day, as a mother, you deserve appreciation every single day. I found some quotations on motherhood, saying how important it is a mother to her son/daughter. What do you think?
“All that I am or ever hope to be, I owe to my angel Mother.” — Abraham Lincoln
“A mother’s love for her child is like nothing else in the world. It knows no law, no pity, it dares all things and crushes down remorselessly all that stands in its path.”– Agatha Christie
“My mother was the most beautiful woman I ever saw. All I am I owe to my mother. I attribute all my success in life to the moral, intellectual and physical education I received from her.” — George Washington
“Education commences at the mother’s knee, and every word spoken within hearsay of little children tends toward the formation of character.” — Hosea Ballou
“The most important thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother.” — Theodore Hesburgh
The last one may not be in the vein. I think it’s a great gift to a mother though.
