How Do I Know if My Child Has a Sleep Problem?

Dr. Jodi A. Mindell, Professor of psychology at St. Joseph’s University and of pediatrics at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine posted an article on children’s sleep problem over at sleepfoundation.org :

Since sleep problems can have very significant consequences for children’s health and functioning, it is very important for parents to know and recognize the symptoms of a possible sleep problem in their child or teenager.

Dr Mindell has developed a simple set of sleep questions called the BEARS to help parents identify children’s sleep problem as early as possible. Simply follow the link to read the questions. If you answer yes to one or more of the questions, it could mean that your child has a sleep problem. Talk to your child’s doctor if needed.
