15 Tips on Doing Everyday Task
Over at Martha Stewart Living, a crafty on-line magazine, there are 15 favorite how-tos collected over the past 15 years. Although these instructions are for a small everyday task, it’s interesting enough to know and easy to follow! One of them, Fold a Fitted Sheet is similar to my previous post. Other tips are quite useful to me:
Make a Seat Cushion – showing you how to change a worn-out chair into the most stylish seat in the house.
Sew on a Button – showing you how to sew a button not too tight or too loose. The secret is to use a toothpick.
Bargain at a Flea Market – giving you some tactics:
Good manners make for good negotiating. When you walk up to a table, offer a friendly greeting. Never say, “What’s your best price?” Instead, try, “Would you consider less?” In general, expect 5 percent to 10 percent to be taken off the asking price, but don’t push it. Dealers are there to make a profit. You may insult them if you haggle for that extra dollar off. One other tactic is to play hard to get, even if you are smitten with something. If it’s evident that you’re excited, the dealer will think you’ll buy at any cost. It may even work in your favor to walk away; the vendor might call you back to close the deal.
