DIY Digital Photo Frame for Your Mom

Over at Google delicious page, I found an excellent post written by Mike Haney, offering a creative idea to made a digital photo frame with an old laptop. With the help of Slickr, a screen saver (freely downloadable from cellardoorsw.com), your wonderful flickr photos can be shown automatically, best of all, you can update your photos whenever or wherever you are. How witty and wonderful this guy is, thinking of a heart-touching present to his mom on Mother’s Day.

My mom loves seeing my digital photos, whether they’re of far-off places or my latest culinary creations, so I’ve long thought about building her a digital-photo frame that would show a new shot every time she walked by.

Long before, when there was no Flickr available, my family talked about how to replace our old static photos on wall with some digital photo slide shows in our family room. I guess it’s also a good idea to have our guests looking at our digital family photos in stead of flipping through dozens of heavy photo albums.
