Gentle Kitchen Cleaning Tips
Like many families, I used to buy lots of cleaning products from supermarkets to keep my house clean. Unfortunately their prices are getting more and more expensive. Most importantly, many products are too strong and have toxic effects to trigger skin rashes, dizziness, nausea. Recently I found the magical cleaning effective of baking soda and vinegar. Also over at 101 Cookbooks there’s an excerpt of The Itty Bitty Kitchens Handbook (Thanks Lifehacker) giving more good tips on replacing strong commerical toxic solvents to clean our kitchens:
- Cleaning refrigerator and freezer interiors
- Cleaning a regular oven
- Cleaning and deodorizing a drain
- Cleaning out a slow drain
- Cleaner for windows and mirrors
- Strong all-purpose countertop cleaner
- Scouring powder for pots, stovetops, countertops, and inside refrigerators and freezers
