How to Be Firm without Losing Temper
Taking care of a toddler at home is not easy at all especially when he/she continues to ignore your words. How can we be firm without losing our temper? Our children will learn from our example if we can be firm but stay calm in front of them. Jo Douglas posted several ways to stop toddlers’ “naughty” behaviour:
Prevention is better than cure in many instances with young children. Make sure that valuable or breakable objects are out of reach. Make sure that the environment at home is safe. Go to the checkout that doesn’t have the sweets on display. Keep drinks and food in the kitchen so that they are not spread all over the carpet. Lock cupboards that contain precious or dangerous items.

I disagree with one part of the artcile. When it says ” Parents carry the aftereffects of most events longer than children……. you have no reason to worry that you have harmed your son or daughter by occasionally losing it. ”
I think that children don’t just forget about what happened …even after you explain to them that “you still love them”.
If my dad grabbed me and screamed at me in my face and threw me on my bed I deffinately will not forget it!
