The Keys to Happiness

Study shows that happy people have stronger immune systems, earn more income and have better families. They have greater strength to cope with difficulties. Parenting is demanding but rewarding. On our journey of parenting, sometimes stress and frustration will steal away our happiness quietly.

How can we be a happy parent/person? What are the keys?

Robin Lloyd over at LiveScience posted a very good article on happiness, saying that happiness doesn’t come from prescription drugs, money or prosperity. In his article we can find some insights :

“Research shows that people who are grateful, optimistic and forgiving have better experiences with their lives, more happiness, fewer strokes, and higher incomes,” according to Easterbrook.

It also strikes accord with Tovia Smith’s tips on happiness:

  • Keep in mind that happiness is mostly dependent on our state of mind, not on our status or the state of our bank account.
  • Express gratitude, whenever possible.

What do you think about these ideas?
