Potty Song
Have you ever thought that a song might help your child’s toilet training? Jodi, a mom to three children sent in a very special tip:
My husband and I have potty trained three of our children and will soon be working with our fourth. I am convinced that there is no “silver bullet” program that will work for all genders and ages. Every child’s different and they all seem to go at different paces. I’m sure some of these “potty train in three days” programs work for some kids, but not all. What we needed was something that can balance the frustration of potty training with some fun positive reinforcement. Along came The Potty Song.
The Potty Song is a potty training song that is personalized with your child’s name and gender in it. You can get it as a CD or as an MP3 download. It’s lively, easy to sing/learn, pretty short and fun…all things that lend themselves well to toddlers. When training our last child each time he would use the potty we would celebrate by playing/singing the potty song. He would run around the house and singing along with the song and celebrating. I think that having a song just for them with their name in it does a lot compared to the generic potty training songs that I’ve seen. The song is very catchy and we reserved playing it for times that he actually “went”.
We have friends that have said that their daughter wants to play the song all the time, but I think it’s best reserved for the actual event. It gives them something to look forward to. There are even printable certificates of completion on the site that you can use when you feel your child has actually completed the potty training process.
